Synopsis: 30% of the construction cost can be easily spent on fixing failures caused by design mistakes. Avoiding loss and turn it into economical value is one of the main goals of today’s engineers. High quality plans, optimized building performance, lower operation costs and many other benefits are proven to be available with BIM. Hence, these became usual requirements from the clients by now.
Studio IN-EX is enthusiastic about BIM. Their specialists find it important to use cutting-edge technology. Most of their projects are industrial buildings above 5 000 m2 with designer teams of multiple disciplines. Involving all stakeholders in the BIM workflow enables them to harvest valuable information from the model and use that at design decisions. IN-EX finds it also important to support academic education and bring it closer to the demands of the market with their hands-on experience.
During this workshop, we will have a look at a 10 000 m2 factory building and see some of the most useful BIM tools which were utilized at this project to reduce failure cost at the construction and to be a real asset for the designers to ensure the right plans for the optimized building.
